THE FRAMEWORK THAT RAISES $1,000,000'S FOR STARTUPS
(AND HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF)

WHAT DO WE DO AT STORM X?

I will be walking you through the 4 step framework we use to raise capital for startups that resulted in over $40,000,000 in 2024 alone.

When I entered the fundraising space….

When I first entered the fundraising space, Storm X was actually one of the many companies that was charging huge retainers for investor outreach. Be being new in the space had no idea how poor of a service that was.

As I hopped on more and more sales calls I began to see a trend of people saying they just got burned by an investor marketing agency or a broker who charged them thousands of dollars with no return.

This got me thinking…where are the options for founders who are looking to raise capital without spending all their capital. Where are the options that reduce risk for the founder so they can comfortably meet investors without having to worry about adding ANOTHER capital strain.

I also realized that fundraising is about building relationships, not pitching to as many people as possible.

On top of this, I also noticed that its not the best practice to be scraping random list of “investors” and sending cold emails blindly. You never know who you are sharing your business with and chances are any meetings you get on will be a waste of time.

So I shut down all of the operations at Storm X until I could find a way to offer a service that actually made sense for startup founders to raise capital.

Thats when I built the system that raised over $40,000,000 in 2024 (the first year launching it) and is currently raising millions for startups as we speak.

The strategy was to take the exact systems that I would use for a B2B campaign that goes out to 10,000 people, and simplify it to cater to the delicacy of the fundraising process.

Meaning we have to run a campaign that focuses on building meaningful introductions and isn’t pitchy, we have to be extremely specific about who we contact, and we have to ensure that the emails deliver to the inbox of the campaign.

Fundraising isn’t about the pitch. It’s about the relationships the founder is capable of building with investors, and how much the founder allows the investor to believe in them.

So our campaigns have to be oriented towards getting replies and starting a conversation that an investor is happy to engage in. Not be one of the 100 other startups sending long pitch emails.

The Results? Over $40,000,000 Raised!!!

So what is the 4 step framework that we used to raise over $40,000,000 in 2024?

I’ll walk you through it now.

Step 1: Multi-Channel and High Deliverability Campaign

Step one is to create a multi-channel campaign that utilizes LinkedIn and Email so we can get two touch points for each investor on different platforms. This allows for more personalization and helps us to tell an investor to check their email. It also puts a face to the name when you are reaching out.

While we are setting up your campaign, we are warming up your email to make sure that each and every email we send avoids the spam folder and always hits the inbox of investors.

Step 2: Meaningful, Response Oriented Messaging

When reaching out to investors, it might seem like a good idea to put as much information as possible in the emails so they can see the full picture and respond accordingly. It is not a good idea. What you are doing is adding another long email for the investor to read with no clear incentives for them to actually read or respond.

To make the most of each email, we focus on providing a compelling reason for an investor to respond. We limit the amount of information we send so that the investor only sees just enough information to show interest and respond, and we create a call to action that is so simple and intriguing that we have companies get 50-100 responses from investors per month.

Step 3: Hand-Picked Investors

Your campaign is only as good as the contacts it goes out to. You also want to limit the amount of random people who have “Angel Investor” in their LinkedIn bio but have no real intention to ever invest in anything.

The majority of the work in this framework lies in taking the time to research each individual person before we ever add them to a campaign.

Yes, we literally hand-pick every single investor before ever adding them to the campaign. We do this because when the campaign is optimized for deliverability and getting responses, and the contacts are extremely tailored, then the founder doesn’t ever waste time on people who don’t qualify for them.

Step 4: Automate, Revise, Follow Up

As a founder, you should be focusing on your business. That is why we automate this entire system so that you only spend time speaking to people who actually show interest.

The most important thing that you need to do as the founder is follow up. When an investor responds, its go time. You need to maintain that relationship and build trust. We share all of the tips that you need to build trust with investors in our book How To Ask For Money

Throughout your investor outreach journey you should also be reviving
